Jussara Rocha Freire (São Paulo, February 8, 1951) is a Brazilian actress and presenter, famous for her work in television, cinema and theater, she is the winner of several awards, including two APCA Awards, a Brazil Quality Award, and a Press Trophy. She began her career in the 70s, gaining prominence in soap operas such as Os Inocentes (1974), Éramos Seis (1977) and O Direito de Nascer (1978), consolidating herself as one of the great names in Brazilian television drama, until establishing herself as a prestigious actress thanks to her performance in the soap opera Pantanal (1990), for which she achieved critical and public recognition and was awarded best actress at the Troféu Imprensa and the APCA Award. Other notable works include the soap operas Amazônia (1991), Coração de Estudante (2002), Cabocla (2004) and Belíssima (2005). She won praise from critics and the public, especially for her dramatic roles and also as an antagonist, especially for her performances as Carmem and Donana in the soap operas Vidas Opostas (2006) and Pecado Mortal (2013), respectively. For her performance in Vidas Opostas (2006), she was awarded the APCA Award for best actress for the second time. She was also nominated again in this award category for her performance in Pecado Mortal (2013).
